Court Insight

Summary:

We teamed up with academics and reform-minded judges of the Lahore High Court to analyse current practicies at the Lahore High Court and recommend ways to improve its functioning. The major concerns identified were:

  • Inefficient and lossy communication among process partners within the Judicial Branch of the Court
  • Slow communication between the High Court and the Sessions Courts
  • Poor communication between the High Court and the office of the Advocate General
  • Needlessly complicated procedures, improperly followed led to errors in the filing of cases as well as in their processing through the Court - hence creating
  • opportunities for corruption - bribery, nepotism
  • The team designed and built a system that addresses these issues so that the Lahore High Court becomes a vehicle for the efficient delivery of justice to citizens and a model to be emulated by the superior judiciary in other provinces as well as at the federal level.
